I've now finished 2 quests. I think the biggest beginner tip is to FIND A GOOD ITEM! If you find necrotic damage, holy damage, or life regen, HANG ON TO THAT SUCKER! Holy/Necro helps you stat build your%age to hit as well as help you earn HP over your threshhold. Life Regen ensures that you'll almost NEVER drop below your starting HP, and you can just stand around or walk around when enemies aren't nearby to recover your HP.
These items helped me win with ease. Also, choke points all the way. Always stand by doorways, 1v1 is so much easier to fight.
When you start bad, just go back and start the quest again. 1 to 2min and you know it. IT'S NOT AN RPG, or at least an rpg without lv. So, basicly, you have to use your brain to advance. Being an Archer/Spellcaster is best, you can use advantage of distance. You want better stats by killing things, take a Divine/Necrotic weapon.
Also, just read the potion description to know what it does, 'Eyes' of hawk or Hawk's eyes' Range + Range Attack, 'Traumaturge' Magic + Magic Attack, etc. You better like melee, it's fine, but it's harder. There's some trick.
You have to go to the borders of the level. Also, when you see an enemy, you have to run and conered them to doors' entry.
Read potion, like I said before, and try to remember the positives names. When you find specials weapons like whips or rapiers and you are an distance character, don't pass it because it gave you swiftness, and swiftness gave you to turn in one, so you can almost always take distance and change it back to your bow/staff. Also, shapeshift is good for a character that use distance weapon, even if you drop off 1/4 (Bow) or 1/2 (Staff) of your accuracy. A good thing, also, is to gain the 'Mask^ Burial' from the quest 'Mask of the boy king', the mask give 8 defense point + others bonuses.
The other artifacts are not as good.

Unfortunately, building those structures takes a lot of time, effort and probably a bit of frustration too if you are prone to falling from great heights while building things.
